02What this policy covers
This policy covers our website, enquiries you send us, and the accounts and billing information of customers who use our services and our products: WAsenda, Tangazo and Kazi.
When our products process personal information on behalf of a business customer (for example, the contacts a business messages through WAsenda, the audiences reached through Tangazo, or the employee records a company keeps in Kazi), that business decides how the information is used and is responsible for it. We process that information only on the customer's instructions and under our agreement with them. If your information is held in one of our products by a business you deal with, please contact that business first.
03Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email address, phone number, company and job title when you contact us or request a demo.
- The content of your messages, and any files you choose to send us.
- Account, billing and contract details if you become a customer.
Information collected automatically
- Technical information our servers record when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. We use it to keep the website secure and working.
- We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. Your browser's session storage remembers that you have already seen our opening animation during a visit; this is not shared with anyone and is cleared when you close the tab. If we introduce analytics, we will update this policy first.
Information from third parties
- If you message us on WhatsApp, or we message you there at your request, Meta Platforms processes those messages under its own terms and privacy policy, and we receive your WhatsApp profile name and number.
04How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide quotes, demos and proposals.
- To provide, maintain and support our services and products, and to bill for them.
- To keep our website, systems and customers secure, and to detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To meet our legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.
- To send you news about our products and services, but only where you have agreed to it. You can opt out at any time.
05Our legal basis
We process personal information in line with the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] of Zimbabwe. We rely on your consent (which you can withdraw at any time), on the need to perform a contract with you or take steps at your request before entering one, on our legal obligations, and on our legitimate interests in running and securing our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
07International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Zimbabwe. Where that happens, we take the steps required by Zimbabwean law to make sure your information receives an adequate level of protection, such as contractual safeguards with the provider.
08How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Enquiries that do not lead to a contract are deleted within 24 months. Contract, billing and accounting records are kept for as long as Zimbabwean tax and company law requires.
09Security
We protect personal information with measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls, multi-factor authentication for our staff, logging and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, so if we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
10Your rights
Subject to the law, you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete information, or to restrict how we use it.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@upeo.co.zw. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Authority, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ).
11Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will tell customers directly about significant changes. See also our Terms of Service.
